Inspired by real-life female criminal defence lawyers defending sexual predators, Someone’s Daughter explores what would happen if one such lawyer had to face the direct consequences of her actions.

Sam, played by the formidable Pascale Bussières, finds herself kidnapped by the father of an alleged victim (Peter Outerbridge) and then abandoned on a remote island. To her horror, Sam discovers her former client and accused rapist Paul in an abandoned fishing shack (François Arnaud). As the two struggle to survive the relentless Canadian wilderness, they form an unlikely bond.

It is only when Paul's good-natured facade begins to crumble, that a more disturbing side of his charm is revealed and Sam is finally forced to acknowledge the dark truth about his past. Her beliefs shaken, Sam faces an impossible decision: uphold her faith in the justice system and save them both or become judge, jury and executioner.
