FREDERIC BOHBOT
Producer / Director
Based in Montreal, Canada, Frederic Bohbot spent several years working within the banking sector before deciding to radically change his life’s course. A long-held fascination with the film industry led Bohbot to a series of management positions at ‘Hot Docs’ - the Toronto International Documentary Film Festival before he accepted a position working with the celebrated National Film Board of Canada documentarian; Magnus Isacsson.
After four films with Isacsson during which time he mastered every aspect of development, production and the marketing of documentary films, Bohbot left in 2002 to establish his own production company BUNBURY FILMS, with the express purpose of making ONCE A NAZI... (Nazi un jour...).
On the back of the critical success of ONCE A NAZI..(Nazi un jour...) (SRC - 2006) BUNBURY FILMS expanded its production slate - developing four new projects, two with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), one with Radio Canada (French arm of the CBC) and the fourth with CHUM Television (Toronto), while also producing BIGFOOT'S REFLECTION (SPACE - 2007)- directed by Evan Beloff.
Bohbot’s most recent productions are: LEAVING THE FOLD (Quitter le bercail) (SRC - 2008)- directed by Eric Scott and the CBC feature-length documentary; BURNING WATER (CBC -2010)- directed by Cameron Esler and Tadzio Richards.
Having established himself as a successful documentary producer and after being accepted and completing Telefilm’s Feature It! Producer program, Bohbot started accepting fiction projects and television series’ to develop. Currently he is developing a television series based on the popular CBC Radio Show "THE AGE OF PERSUASION" and two feature films: CABANE À SUCRE and POLICE FORCE;.
